Knit Democracy Together

We built a collaborative knitted sculpture of the New Hampshire State House. Along the way, we deepened our knowledge of democracy! With people participating from all over the state, adults and middle-schoolers, it was a metaphor for representative democracy.

We assembled the sculpture in May

at the Elegant Ewe yarn shop in Concord NH

A bit of concentration as the first strip of knitting is glued on to the armature.

These are some of the skilled knitters who made the intricate pieces for the tower.

Attaching more sections of knitting to the armature. There are 10 pieces of armature making up the sculpture.
